Outdoor Family Portrait Session at the Menil Collection

I had the wonderful privilege of capturing this beautiful family of three at The Menil Collection. The Menil Collection is a museum and neighborhood of art spanning 30 acres in the heart of Houston, Texas. The client wanted modern lines and architetural element while still having some greenery. I thought the Menil Collection would be a great place that checked off of these. The museum has clean lines and neutral colors. It also has beautiful large oak trees and green spaces. The family absolutely love the location.

I generally do outdoor portrait sessions in the evening. The lighting produced by the sun is softer and produces a wonderful warm tone to pictures. Babies and children tend to do better in outdoor sessions because there is a sense of familiarity. In addition, outdoor photo sessions tend to lend themselves to be natural poses. I try to capture the moment and joy between my clients because this makes my photography classic and timeless.

Whether you choose to do indoor or outdoor family portrait photography session, every full session includes a pre-session consultation. In a pre-session consultation, we will discuss over theme, location, and details about your session. I want to know what is you're overall objective. In addition, we will get to talk about hair, make up, and clothing details. So the day of the session, everything will go smoothly and everyone will be relax.

The client wanted to fill her house with these memories from this session. We definitely capture some portraits that are worth hanging on the wall and cherish for years to come. I am so happy I am able to bring joy to my clients and fill their homes with happiness and love.
