Houston Texas Bluebonnet Mini Session
Spring time is a great time to take family portraits. One of the most famous Texas Spring time tradition, is to take bluebonnet pictures. This year my 2022 Houston, Texas Bluebonnet Mini Session was a smashing hit . It was by far my busiest season to date. I think the reason for the high interest was the location I picked this year. The location was full of bluebonnets and wild flowers. Lots of mature oak trees in the background and when the sunset, the sun was directly behind the trees producing the most amazing golden glow. One client told me it looked like the Texas Hill Country. To her surprise, this location was inside 610 loop in Houston, Texas. So if you want the Texas Hill Country look but want to stay inside the loop and not travel far, book with Victoria Lanza Photography.
What I love about Houston Bluebonnet Mini Sessions are that they are more playful and joyful than your typical session. Children tend to smell the flowers and run in the wild flowers. Taking photos in a field of bluebonnets is a Texas Tradition. It brings me joy to be able to capture this for my clients. As your Houston Family Photographer I will capture all these organic and playful photographs. These are the memories that will fill your home.
WHEN DO BLUEBONNET MINI SESSIONS OCCUR AND WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
I first release my Houston Bluebonnet Mini Session in my Newsletter. If you haven't done so, please subscribe to my Newsletter (click on the link) so you can be the first to know about promotions, mini sessions, or limited edition sessions that Victoria Lanza Photography may offer. I typically release the bluebonnet mini session in late January and early February leading up to the Houston Bluebonnet Mini Session. When I release the bluebonnet session, you can book your session and pick the date and time that works best for you and your family. The most popular times and dates go fast. Book early and when I release the times. This year the Houston Bluebonnet Mini Sessions sold out within a day of release. Once I release it to my Newsletter, I then wait 24 hours to make it public to the general public.
The actual Houston Bluebonnet Mini Sessions occur during Late March and Early April. They only last for two weeks. This is when the bluebonnets are in full bloom and at their peak.
Basically anyone can participate in the Houston Bluebonnet Mini Sessions. Maternity, Newborn, Family, Pets, and Grandparents. I had several clients who opted to take their maternity photos in the Texas Bluebonnets this year. I had a client whose baby was 5 weeks old. I had extended families come and enjoy the wildflower. Bluebonnets are great for everyone.
WHAT TIME ARE HOUSTON BLUEBONNET MINI SESSIONS?
I generally do my Houston Bluebonnet Mini Session in the early morning and late evening. Early morning is typically around 8 a.m. in the morning. This is when the sun is just starting to rise. The sunlight is still soft and produces a nice morning glow. My morning sessions are great for families who have children who are morning birds. Also, this is usually not as busy as my evening session. So if you like less crowds and want to knock out your session first thing in the morning, AM sessions might work in your favor. My evening sessions are about two hours from sunset of that day. This is when the sun starts to set and produces what us photographers call the "golden" hour. My job as your Houston Family Photographer is to create a wonderful experience and having truly emotional connections during our session even during a bluebonnet mini session.
CAN MY PET PARTICIPATE IN THE SESSION?
Absolutely. I encourage you to bring your pet to the session. There is a small pet fee when you bring your furry friend. I do ask that you let me know what type of animal you are bringing, have they taken portraits before, and the age. I ask for the day of the session to bring LOTS of treats and even a toy. Plus a leash. The animal will remain on the leash 100% of the time. I will edit the leash out. This year I had several clients bring their dog to the Houston Bluebonnet Minis. The pets absolutely loved it.
It was an absolute joy to capture so many families this year in Houston Bluebonnet Mini Session.
